Artist branding

Ryan Van Dordrecht

Client

Ryan was embarking on the release of his latest solo album, "Undone," a finely-crafted masterpiece that pays homage to 1970s-indie soul Americana. So I jumped into help with directing a cohesive visual identity spanning from vinyl artwork, website design, merch and tour materials.

For the creative a combination of illustrations complemented the photography shot by Kaitlin Green. I curated a set of symbols that encapsulate the album's journey. A moon symbolizing the essence of time, a snake representing the release of control and transformation, a plant signifying growth, a heart capturing raw nature, and birds embodying the spirit of journey. Complementing these are sketches of Ryan woven in from the photography.

A series of posters were created for the tour. These posters featured unique color schemes extracted from the photography, allowing each show to stand out individually.  It was such joy to work with Ryan, a truly remarkable and talented man!

Ryan Van Dordrecht, an indie soul artist hailing from Portland, is a multifaceted talent with a background previously playing in pop-Americana band Sidestar, and emo alt-rock band Castella. His collaborative ventures include working with industry names such as Joe Chiccarelli (known for his work with The Shins and Beck), two-time Grammy-nominated producer Rian Lewis (associated with Doja Cat), Rob Stroup (collaborator with Storm Large), and Rob Daiker (notable for his work with Katy Perry).
